Dublin City Handball Club
Founded in 2013, Dublin City Handball Club is the Olympic Handball team for Dublin.

About Us
Since its foundation, the men’s team has competed in the IOHA Senior Men’s League Division 1, evolving from DCU Handball Club, a multi-time national champion.
The women’s team joined the league in the 2016-2017 season, marking a new chapter in the club’s growth.
Our Journey
Dublin City Handball Club was born from the highly successful DCU Olympic Handball Club, which had already won several Irish championships. During this period, we moved to Sheriff Street, laying the foundation for a new era.
With Nacho Ortega stepping in as Chair, we faced one of our toughest times. Struggling with player numbers, we made the difficult decision to temporarily withdraw from the league. But our determination never wavered.
After a period of regrouping and restructuring, we came back stronger! This was a pivotal year—we introduced our first women’s team and re-entered the league with both men’s and women’s squads. That same year, we also returned to DCU as an independent club.
This season marked a major milestone: we won our first silverware as Dublin City Handball Club. Our hard work and commitment were finally paying off.
We launched the Dublin City Handball Academy, creating a pathway for young athletes to learn and grow in the sport. This project is still evolving, but our goal remains the same—to nurture the next generation of handball players in Dublin.
